Safety First, Covid-19 Prevention

Hello! Greetings from the HelloWorld Homestay Service Team!

Since the Coronavirus has been spreading rapidly, we are taking various measures to prevent infection. We are doing everything we can to ensure that our hosts can safely and securely host their students in such situations.

In conjunction to the Prefectural Emergency Alert in Okinawa, we have postponed our services until the end of August.

Checking Temperature via thermometer

All students are required to take a temperature test at home prior to their stay.

We will not allow students or their families to participate in the program if they are sick, or have a fever over 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 Fahrenheit) .

Thoroughly monitoring the health status of participating students

Students are required to check their temperature not only on the day of the homestay, but also one week in advance.

We ask students and students’ families to report any illnesses or fevers to us as soon as possible at least a week in advance.

Respecting the host family’s wishes

The Coronavirus situation is forever changing.  Therefore, we will respect the wishes of our hosts if they feel a little uncomfortable with the situation prior to accepting guests for the homestay program.  We will discuss this with the participants and make adjustments accordingly by postponing or canceling the program at that time.

There are many children who are unable to travel or study abroad because of the virus. We want them to also be able to experience different cultures and languages in the comfort of their own homes.

Despite this situation, we would like to ask everyone to help us host these eager children.
