On October 5th (Sun), HelloWorld held a Get-Together Party with host families in Kanto to celebrate the end of another successful Summer Season!
We are incredibly grateful to the many host families who opened their homes and hearts! As an appreciation gesture, our Host Team organized a Get Together Party to provide an environment where hosts, HelloWorld staff, and their friends could come together to strengthen our bonds as a community with delicious food and shared experiences.
The event took place on Sunday afternoon in the heart of Shibuya. Many families brought homemade dishes from their home countries, adding to the friendly and diverse atmosphere!
Families not only shared delicious dishes, but they also had the chance to exchange hosting tips, share engaging cultural exchange and cooking activities, and even enjoy some business networking.
The casual and open environment allowed host families to share and discuss any concerns or challenges they encountered in previous hostings. HelloWorld values every piece of honest feedback, as it helps us improve not only the guest experience but, most importantly, the experience of our host families!
Living abroad, away from your culture and family, can be challenging, especially when you don’t have a strong network or the support of a community. HelloWorld connects people not only from Tokyo but also from three other prefectures in Kanto—Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba—who share the same passion for hospitality, cultural exchange, learning new languages, and sharing life experiences!
Speaking with several host families, we discovered that many were drawn to join our family because they had recently arrived in Japan and were looking for a community to belong to. Combined with their passion for Japan and their own cultures, this created a wonderful cultural exchange opportunity—one that now helps build new homes for everyone!
Our plan is to hold more events like this in the future to help build a stronger sense of community among our host families and to show our gratitude for their continued support.
It was nice meeting other international people who are fully settled into Japan.
